A photo by Esmat Morshedy http://ift.tt/1lZaqPv It is the oldest street in Egypt, full of life and architecture buildings since more than 1000 year, El Moez Street. I have like thousand stories about this street, but I will tell you just a few for now in a brief, that street used to be the most important street in Cairo 1000 years ago, beside it magnificent mosques, schools houses and Sabile / fountain “free drinking water system” , shops and stores of different crafts. if you walk from one gate to another in this street you will pass through many gatherings that grown through time and formed districts or little cities, each gathering contains people from the same trade and these districts or groups got their names from the trade they were working in, all names are still used now with the same (mainly hand made crafts) trade, So if you walk through the street you will find fresh Olive and smell zest of millions of Lemons in the market at season, or can buy a shiny Brass ornament or cocking pan from Nahassien ( Brass manufacturers), or buy Shisha or Coal, Candles, Carpets and Textiles, Perfume, Gold and Antiques. Or you can bargain in any market for a good deal, after this walk, we might sit and have some coffee (the part I like most)
